Founded in Florence in 1860 by Giovanni Panerai, watchmaker and supplier of instruments to the Italian Royal Navy, the company equipped combat swimmers with luminous and waterproof watches that remained secret for decades: the Radiomir in 1936, followed by the Luminor, with its inimitable crown-protecting bridge. Revealed to the public in the 1990s and a member of the Richemont group, Panerai cultivates this Mediterranean military heritage through generous cushion-shaped cases, innovative materials, and a community of passionate collectors, the Paneristi.
