Watchmaking

Founded in 1868 by the American engineer Florentine Ariosto Jones, IWC was born from a unique gamble: to combine New World industrial methods with Swiss craftsmanship, far from the watchmaking centers, on the banks of the Rhine in Schaffhausen. A Richemont Group manufacture, it has built its style on elegant functionality: the Portugieser, created in 1939 for sailors; the Big Pilot pilot's watch with its cockpit-style dial; and the anti-magnetic Ingenieur, designed by Genta. Watchmaking by engineers: precise, legible, and durable.
