Founded in Rome in 1884 by the Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari, the house on Via Condotti established a radiant and architectural jewelry style, drawing on Greco-Roman heritage: colorful cabochons, generous yellow gold, and antique coins set in precious stones. The Serpenti, which appeared on the wrists of Cinecittà stars in the 1940s, remains its emblem. A member of the LVMH group since 2011, Bulgari now extends its Roman art of living from fine jewelry to watchmaking, where its Octo Finissimo timepieces set records for their thinness, and even into the hotel industry.
