Founded in 1911 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Eugène Blum and Alice Lévy, Ebel combines watchmaking expertise with elegant design. Its Ebel 1911 collection was launched in 1986, on the occasion of the company's 75th anniversary: its name pays tribute to the year of its founding.
Built between 1916 and 1917 by Le Corbusier, and later acquired by Ebel in 1986, the Villa Turque is among the assets covered by the agreement. The Le Corbusier Foundation dates the restoration undertaken by Ebel to 1987–1988, with interior design entrusted to Andrée Putman.
